Not sure which cable goes into which port

- Video: connect USB-C DP or Mini HDMI to the video input.
- Camera: connect the camera cable to your PC’s USB port, Type-A end to the PC.
- Power: connect USB-C to the power input.
- See the labelled diagram in the Connect section for a picture of all three.
Display does not power on
- Check that the power cable is fully seated at both ends.
- If you are powering the Shift from your PC’s USB-C port, confirm that port supplies 20 W or more.
- Try the USB-C adapter supplied in the box.
No image on screen
- Confirm the video cable (USB-C DP or Mini HDMI) is seated at both ends.
- Do not connect USB-C DP and Mini HDMI at the same time.
- Confirm your PC is powered on and awake.
- Open your PC’s display settings and check that the Owl3D Shift appears as an external monitor.
Screen flickers, goes blank, or blacks out intermittently
- Check every cable connection at both ends.
- Confirm the USB-C power source supplies 20 W.
- Power the Shift from the USB-C adapter supplied in the box rather than your PC’s USB-C port — a PC port that cannot hold 20 W steadily causes intermittent blackouts that look like a loose connection.
On a Mac, the Owl3D software does not detect the Shift
On a Mac, update macOS to 15.5 or later. Earlier versions cannot detect the Shift.
The software cannot find the camera
- Check the camera cable orientation — the Type-A end goes to your PC.

- Reseat both ends of the cable.
- Restart the Owl3D software.
- Open Device Manager and confirm the camera is not disabled.
VESA mount wobbles or the display tilts on its own
- Tighten the M4 screws to the mount manufacturer’s specification.
- Use M4×6 mm short screws — the VESA holes are only 5 mm deep — or the spacers supplied with your arm.
- Check every joint on the arm.
- Confirm the arm’s weight rating suits the Shift.
3D Effect4
3D image is blurry, misaligned, or shows a double edge
- Sit 50–70 cm from the display, facing it square on — your line of sight at 90° to the screen.
- Run the calibration in the Owl3D software and drag the slider until the sample image looks as good as you can make it. Stop there — there is no perfect setting, only the best one for your eyes.
- Reduce bright light sources behind you.
- If a double image or ghosting remains, adjust the Depth Adjustment controls.
3D effect is not working
- Confirm the Owl3D software is installed and running.
- Confirm you have pressed the button that starts 3D in the software.
- Confirm the camera cable is connected and the software has found the camera.
- Use the video cable supplied in the box. If you must use an adapter or hub, confirm it is rated for 4K — 3D cannot switch on below 4K.
- Open your PC’s display settings and confirm the Shift is running at its native 4K resolution.
- Verify your GPU meets the system requirements.
- Close or uninstall other webcam or video-effects apps — they can take over the camera and stop 3D from starting.
The 3D breaks up when you move your head
- Move your head slowly from side to side. If the 3D is only correct from one position, the camera is not following you.
- Check the camera cable at both ends.
- Reduce strong backlighting behind you.
- Confirm your face is inside the camera’s field of view.
3D worked before but stopped after a Windows update
- Open Windows camera privacy settings.
- Open Device Manager and confirm the camera is not disabled.
- Confirm the Owl3D software is allowed to use the camera.
- Restart the Owl3D software.

Software installation fails
- Confirm your PC meets the minimum system requirements.
- Temporarily disable your antivirus during installation.
- Make sure you are signed in with administrator privileges.
- Re-download the installer and run it again.

Read this first
- Read these instructions completely before connecting or using the Owl3D Shift.
- Keep this manual for future reference and heed all warnings.
- Sit at least 18″ / 45 cm from the display during normal viewing.
- Handle the display with care when moving it.
- Never remove the screen glass, rear cover or system cover. This product contains high-voltage components; internal servicing must be performed by qualified service personnel only.
- Do not use near water or in damp locations, and do not expose it to rain or moisture.
- Do not place it near heat sources such as radiators or stoves.
- Do not place heavy objects on the display, the power cable, or the signal cables.
- If you notice smoke, abnormal noise or an unusual odour, unplug the power cable immediately and contact your dealer or Owl3D. Continued use is dangerous.
- Do not block the ventilation openings.
- Unplug the display when it will be unused for a long period.
- Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
Operation
- Place the display in a well-ventilated area and keep the top clear so heat can escape.
- Do not knock or drop the display in use or in transit.
- Do not place the display on an unstable surface.
- Long sessions can cause eye discomfort — take a 5–10 minute break every 50–60 minutes.
Maintenance
- Do not press hard on the LCD panel. Hold the frame when moving the display.
- Unplug the display before cleaning.
- Clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth. No alcohol, ammonia-based liquids or organic solvents.
- Keep it away from dust, rain, water and excessive moisture.
- If the display gets wet, dry it immediately with a soft cloth.
- Operating temperature 0–40°C (32–104°F); humidity 20–80% RH.
Disposal
Under Directive 2012/19/EU (WEEE) this product must not be thrown out with household waste. Take it to a designated collection point for electrical and electronic equipment — your local authority, waste disposal organisation or the store you bought it from can tell you where. The display is built from high-quality materials that can be recycled and reused.

Meet your Owl3D Shift


The Shift is a 14-inch 4K panel with a proprietary cylindrical lenticular lens array. The eye-tracking camera sits at the top centre of the bezel and follows your eye position in real time, so the software can keep the depth effect consistent as you move. Every cable connects at the rear.
Ports

- Camera (USB-C)
- Eye-tracking camera connection. Connect to your PC with the included USB-A to USB-C cable — use the included adapter for USB-C ports.
- Mini HDMI
- Video input over HDMI. Connect to your PC’s HDMI output with the included HDMI to Mini HDMI cable.
- USB-C (DP Alt Mode)
- Video input over USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode. Connect to a DP-capable USB-C port with the included cable.
- USB-C (Power)
- Power input. Use the included USB-C adapter, or a USB-C port on your PC that supplies 20 W or more.


Set it up
Adjust the angle
The Shift ships flat, face up, to protect the panel in transit. Raise it to your preferred angle, keeping your line of sight perpendicular to the screen for the best 3D effect.

Find the right spot
Keep a viewing distance of 50–70 cm. Staying in that range is what makes the depth read correctly and stays comfortable to look at.

Mount it your way
The rear panel has a standard VESA 75 × 75 mm pattern. Attach a compatible monitor arm or wall bracket to the two M4 points, keeping the display at a comfortable height and the camera in clear line of sight to your eyes.
WarningThe VESA holes are only 5 mm deep. Use M4×6 mm short screws, or the spacers supplied with your arm — longer screws will damage the rear panel. Do not over-tighten.
When you change the angle on an arm, grip the base of the display — the part attached to the arm — rather than the screen itself. Pulling on the panel puts load on the mounting points.
Connect everything
Connect every cable at the rear before powering on. Your PC or laptop needs a dedicated NVIDIA GPU for 3D.
CameraRequired
Use the included USB-A to USB-C cable, or any other USB 2.0 cable.
Video
Two options: HDMI, or USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode.
Power
If your computer cannot supply enough power through a single USB-C DP Alt Mode cable, connect a second USB-C cable for power only.

NoteSome laptops carry video and power over a single USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode cable. The Shift powers on by itself once a power source is connected; if the PC is off it drops to standby and wakes when the PC does.
Get the software
The Owl3D software does the real-time 3D conversion. Without it the display works as an ordinary 4K monitor.
Download
On your PC, go to www.owl3d.com and download the latest Owl3D software.
Launch
Open the Owl3D software and follow the prompts to activate 3D.

NoteThe software must stay running in the background while you use 3D mode. Its icon appears in the Windows system tray when it is active.

Enable 3D mode
In the Owl3D software, toggle “Enable 3D” on. The eye-tracking camera calibrates to your position.
Find your position
Sit 50–70 cm in front of the display, roughly level with the centre of the screen. Eye tracking adapts as you move.
Enjoy
Drag any window onto the Owl3D Shift — websites, YouTube, Netflix, photos, games — and it renders in real-time 3D. No glasses.

Keeping it clean
- Do not attempt to repair the display yourself. Internal servicing must be done by qualified personnel.
- Unplug the display before cleaning.
- Avoid touching the screen. Skin oils can permanently damage the anti-reflective coating.
- Do not use in places subject to heavy vibration or mechanical shock.
Cleaning the screen
The panel and the lenticular lens array both need care — the optical coating is what makes the 3D work.
Power off and unplug before cleaning.
Wipe gently with a clean, soft, lint-free microfibre cloth.
For stubborn marks, lightly dampen the cloth with distilled water. Never apply water to the screen directly.
Wipe in one direction. Do not rub in circles.
WarningNever use alcohol, benzene, ammonia-based cleaners, abrasive cloths, tissues or commercial screen sprays. They permanently damage the anti-reflective coating and the lenticular lens array.
Cleaning the enclosure
- Wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth.
- Do not let liquid enter the ventilation openings.
- Do not use chemical solvents or abrasive cleaners.
