Owl3D Cloud is now in beta. Upload a video in your browser, and our servers turn it into side-by-side 3D with the same AI model as the desktop app at its highest quality setting, StereoGen V2 Large. Your computer or phone only uploads the video and downloads the result, so it needs no graphics card and nothing to install.
Every new account gets its first 3 minutes of video free, with no card needed. That is enough to convert a short clip and watch it on your own headset, TV or glasses.
Stay tuned on our Discord channel for updates while Cloud is in beta!
What's in the Owl3D Cloud beta
☁️ How it works
- Our best 3D quality, on our GPUs — Cloud runs StereoGen V2 Large, the model behind the desktop app's top setting. It works out how far away everything in each frame is and draws a second view for the other eye.
- Any computer or phone — Cloud runs in the browser on Windows, Mac (Intel or Apple silicon), Android and iPhone. On a phone, pick a video from your gallery and keep the page open until the upload has finished.
- Close the page after the upload — The conversion keeps running on our servers. We email you when the 3D file is ready.
- Eight languages — English, Traditional and Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean, German, French and Spanish.
🎬 What you get
- Full side-by-side 3D, up to 4K — One video file with the left-eye and right-eye pictures next to each other at full width, with the original sound.
- Plays on what you already own — Meta Quest and other VR headsets (in a player such as Skybox or DeoVR), Apple Vision Pro, 3D TVs and projectors, XREAL and other AR glasses, and Owl3D Shift without glasses. Steps for each device: how to watch movies in VR and 3D TVs.
- A 30-day library — Each 3D video stays in your Cloud library for 30 days after it is ready. Download the ones you want to keep.
📏 Limits in the beta
- Most video files: MP4, MOV, MKV and others, up to 3 hours, 60 fps and 100 GB.
- Video only. For a photo, use the desktop app.
- A link to a YouTube or streaming video cannot be converted: upload a file you have.
- A whole film takes hours. Try a short clip first. Cloud shows an estimate before you start.
💳 After the free minutes
You pay by the minute of video, with credits or a monthly plan. See the pricing page. Minutes are counted for 24 fps video: a 30 fps video uses 1.25 times as many minutes and a 60 fps video 2.5 times.
Cloud or the desktop app?
Use Cloud if your computer has no strong graphics card, if you are on a phone or an Intel Mac, or if you want to try Owl3D without installing anything. The desktop app for Windows and Mac suits you if you have an NVIDIA RTX graphics card or an Apple silicon Mac and convert a lot: it runs on your own computer, nothing is uploaded, and it also converts photos.
